Create your very own magical constructs with potions and furniture and battle your friends at the Georgia Tech Launchpad 2025! An interactive exhibition inspired by Pepper's ghost, we invite the audience to become wizards and bring furniture to life in a little darkened theater to clash in a duel of wills.

This experience is designed for playful, imaginative competition in a walk-up exhibition experience.

For this project, I wanted to learn how to integrate physical computing with digital interfaces. This meant learning how to read serial outputs from the Arduino and turn them into game action!
I also got to learn basic woodworking skills, which I used to build part of the stage.
A friend invited me to join a workshop by the Public Art Futures Lab, in which I learned how to build a Pepper's ghost with simple materials. I was inspired to use what I learned to make a fun project, so I pitched the illusion method to be the main medium for the constructs to appear out of thin air. We used a large fishtank, a scrapped acrylic sheet, and a TV monitor to build the stage.

A big chunk of the development was figuring out how to keep track of a whopping 27 construct characters, all with unique strengths and weaknesses! I also thought it was a good time to learn a new P5JS game library!

Pick a head, body, and limb potion bottle - all tied to unique strengths.
Match each bottle to its shape slot (pentagon = head, square = body, hexagon = limbs) to build your golem.
Press START and watch your creation fight your opponent inside the Pepper's Ghost theater.
